Mission
To promote the well-being and progress of Michoacan residents, Mexicans, and immigrants in the Midwest of the United States and in their home communities through educational, cultural, productive, and social projects, thus achieving sustainable development.
Vision
To fully recognize the cultural, social, economic, and political significance of the Michoacán, Mexican, and Latin American migrant community in Mexico and the United States of North America.
Impact and recent achievements
As a result of lobbying efforts at the Springfield Capitol, we have managed to secure improvements in laws that benefit immigrant communities.
And thanks to funding from programs like IFRP (Immigrant Family Resources Program), NAI (New Americans Initiative), Access 2 Justice, Legislative Add-On, and the Illinois Arts Council , we achieved the following in 2025:
-
205 people registered for the US citizenship workshop and around 900 people received information sessions regarding this process
-
Processing over 300 IDHS applications – the Illinois Department of Human Services. Such as SNAP and health coverage for seniors, children, and pregnant women
-
Managing food donations for over 150 families
